Hurricane Restoration

This property was initially bought for the land. ?The house was damaged in Hurricane Juan and had been left to rot.?The shingles were repaired, new windows/doors were installed and wide trim/decorative elements were added. SHIP BUILDERS & STAIR BUILDERS These stairs were a shining example of why this house had to be saved. The workmanship was unequaled. RECYCLED ELEMENTS The fireplace mantel was scraped down of all the old paint and altered to fit the new propane fireplace, the original crown could not be saved so new crown was added. The doorway was widened to compensate for the narrow hallway. PERIOD LIGHTING Lighting for the house chosen to echo the age of the home. A ready-made rosette was painted copper and bronze to match the chandelier. French doors were added to divide the formal living / dining rooms. SOUTHERN LIGHT The back exterior wall was stripped completely from the house. It was replaced with a total of nine windows. This allowed the family room and master bedroom to capitalize on the southern exposure. KITCHEN & FAMILY ROOM This part of the house was originally a small porch plus two small rooms. The custom kitchen was designed to utilize the great room and the large deck out back. The island is at counter height allowing the kitchen area flow into the family area. A wood stove makes the family room warm and cozy during the winter months.
